This section
highlights the
Non-Emergency Services portion of Medic 1
Ambulance as well as the Emergency Services
offered.
Medic 1 Ambulance also offers many non-emergency services related
to Emergency Medical Services. Inter-facility transfers compose the largest
portion of non-emergency services, but Medic 1 also participates in promotional
activities.

Non Emergency Transportation
Medic
1 has a fleet of vehicles designed to transport patients who are confined to a
wheel chair or who cannot get around like they used to. Our wheel chair vans are
equipped with an automatic lift.
- Ambulance Transportation

Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance
-
This type of vehicle is staffed
with a minimum of a Paramedic (EMT-P) and an EMT. It is equipped to
transport a passenger who is unable to sit in an upright position for the
duration of the transport.

It is also equipped with
all the supplies needed to care for a severely injured or ill patient, such
as IV supplies, cardiac monitor, intubation equipment.

Specialty Care
Transport Ambulance (SCT)

This service
provides inter-facility transportation for the high–acuity
patient.

Each Ambulance is equipped as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and
provides stabilization care until the patient is turned over to the
receiving facility.
